Champagne Lanson Organic
🌧️ The first time I tried Lanson was during my first visit to Reims 8 years ago. I was visiting France in January and the weather was cold, damp, rainy - the type of chill that gets into your bones. I had planned a day trip to Reims and arrived very early in the morning by train. It was so foggy, I couldn’t see anything but the train station we arrived in! I had imagined walking around the main city of Reims and finding tasting rooms on my own, but I quickly scrapped that idea once I saw the weather I was dealing with. I found Champagne Lanson through a quick internet search and booked an appointment. And the rest, as they say, is history.
⭐️ I still remember the winery being like a warm beacon on that gray, foggy day. Seemingly the only one who braved Reims weather that day, I ended up getting a private tour 😃 The tour guide was warm, welcoming, and put up with my barrage of geeky questions. In the tasting room after the tour, she gave me a bonus pour: from a leftover bottle of Clos Lanson, a Blanc de Blancs from their rare collection. I’m sure you’re not surprised, but I became a huge Lanson fan after that.
🍇 This Champagne Lanson Organic is made from 100% organic grapes from their Malmaison Estate, a 16-hectare vineyard situated at the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. As Lanson is known for, no malolactic fermentation was used in the production of this champagne, which results in a champagne bursting with vibrant acidity and freshness.
