Sparkling Wine Series Part 3: Domaine de la Taille aux Loups ‘Triple Zéro’ Chenin Blanc NV

🇫🇷 If you need a sign to try French sparkling wine that isn’t champagne, here it is. Take this sparkling Loire Valley Chenin Blanc, for example. Made from old vine Chenin Blanc, the name “triple zéro” comes from the fact that no sugar was added at any point of the process: I.e. no dosage, no liqueur de tirage and no chaptalization. A Petillant naturel fermented and aged in 5-10 year old barrels with indigenous yeasts, then aged on the lees for 24 months. It is unique, a little funky, and a great example of some of the non-traditional French sparkling wine that is out there waiting for you to explore.

🕵🏽‍♀️ The Loire Valley isn’t the only region with an exciting group of sparkling wine producers making unique wines. Check out the following regions for more examples:

👉🏽Languedoc-Roussillon
👉🏽Jura
👉🏽Savoie

I am definitely planning on diving more into these regions myself in 2024!
