Sparking Wine Series Part 1: Gruet Blanc de Noirs

Woman in black top and sequin skirt holding a bottle of American sparkling wine.

1️⃣ For day 1 of my sparkling wine series, I’m featuring an American sparkling that is my go-to if I’m looking for a great wine under $20: Gruet.

🥂 Gruet Winery was founded by the Gruet family, who originated from the Champagne region of France. In 1984, they planted their first vineyard in New Mexico with the goal of producing exceptional sparkling wines. They source their grapes from multiple vineyards in New Mexico and specialize in the traditional method (Méthode Champenoise) of sparkling wine production.

🍓 Their Blanc de Noirs (made from Pinot Noir grapes) is a stunning value for the price: the palate features primarily red fruit flavors with a creamy mouthfeel and a lovely, vibrant acidity.

👀 Can’t find Gruet near you? Have no fear - there are many fantastic American sparkling wines providing excellent value for the price. Here are my top recommendations:

@mummnapa : Mumm Napa, CA
@domainecarneros : Domaine Carneros, CA
@ironhorsevyds : Ironhorse Vineyards, CA
